Anna Nicole Smith at the U.S. Supreme CourtWhile we wait for Ohio and Texas Democratic primary results, we thought we’d entertain you with the news that Anna Nicole Smith’s 18-month-old daughter, Dannielynn, is now officially the sole heir to the Smith estate, potentially worth millions. Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Mitchell L. Beckloff ruled on the case this afternoon, also establishing a trust for the child that will be jointly administered by Howard K. Stern, and Larry Birkhead, Dannielynn’s father. Smith’s will left everything to her son Daniel, 20, who died three days after Dannielynn’s birth of an accidental drug overdose, a pattern repeated five months later with the demise of Anna Nicole.

Before her death, Smith was in an as-yet-unresolved legal battle over the will of her deceased husband, billionaire oil tycoon Howard Marshall. Smith was 26 when she married him; he was 89. When Marshall expired 14 months after the nuptials, his fortune was estimated to be $1.6 billion. Marshall’s son, E. Pierce Marshall, 67, died suddenly in 2006, having fought Smith fiercely over the estate. Will Dannielynn win the lottery? With most of this soap opera’s cast having keeled over, perhaps her odds are good. It will probably be years before we know.
