Abu-Ayyub-al-Masri

Congrats to Abu Ayyub al-Masri, also d.b.a. Sheikh Abu Hamza al-Mohajer, for worst career move of the week. The up-and-coming Egyptian is al-Qaeda’s replacement for Zarqawi in Iraq. al-Masri’s forté is manufacturing explosives. This is one career move that really could blow up in his face. Sorry, couldn’t resist.

Best career move of the week: Bill Gates, seen in a youthful 1977 mugshot when briefly jailed in Albuquerque, NM for a stop sign traffic violation…jeez, you can go to jail for that?…Gates today announced plans to retire from an active role at Microsoft in 2008, to spend even more time working with the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, which has so far donated more than $24 billion dollars worldwide to health and education issues. Gates is considered one of the world’s greatest philanthropists and humanitarians and is called a hero of our time in a Jason Cowley New Statesman cover story on modern heroes.
