Rats – An Answer to Weight Loss Resolutions

So…how are your New Year’s resolutions holding up so far? If one of those resolutions was to lose weight, we have just the thing for you. Watch this video about a Chinese epicurean delight and your appetite will vanish. We promise.

Ho la, a Taiwanese restaurant, offers 10 dishes with rats in them. The yummy treats include deep-fried rat and rat soup; they serve up 40 pounds of rat meat a day. Eating rat meat, which is also customary in mainland China, became popular in rural Taiwan during the 1940s and 1950s, amongst people who couldn’t afford more traditional fare such as chicken or pork. Now that it’s the Year of the Rat, the treats are even more popular. Pajamadeen is so glad she’s a vegetarian.
